We would like you to shoot our wedding, how do we set the wheels in motion?

Contact me via my contact form, email photography@sirobinson.co.uk or call me with your wedding date and venue, if booked.  If possible, I would like to meet you both in person so you can get to know your future photographer and can ask me everything you need. Once you’ve decided to choose me as your photographer, I will send a contract for you to sign and return with a deposit. After that, you can tick “find a photographer” off your wedding to-do list.

                 What does wedding photography cost?

Please contact me for a full rate sheet and details. I like to keep things simple. If you are eloping, doing something very simple, or only need me for a few hours, send me an email and I will tailor something that will work for you both.

How much do I need to deposit?

I require only a 25% of your wedding package initial deposit and the rest of the fee to be paid before the wedding      day.

                  What is your photography style?
I'm a fine art wedding photographer and so I'm fully invested in turning each image into a piece of art.

My technique draws upon wedding photojournalism, or documentary photography – Capturing things as they unfold with no interference by the photographer while focusing on collecting images that tell a complete story.

When working with the couple, the wedding party and family groups, I have more control and use subtle direction  to achieve artistic and carefully shot portraits and group shots. Placing subject(s) in a beautiful environment with only a little direction, even camera shy couples and guests tend to really enjoy these moments as once any formal groups are shot (if you require formal shots) I then like to shoot images with movement and depth and allow the different personalities to shine through in group shots.

I like to shoot the couples shots alone without guests nearby so the couple can relax and enjoy each moment together.

How far should we book in advance?

Typically 12 months in advance, or as soon as you have a date and venue.

                 Where are you based?

I am based in High Barnet North London, but travel worldwide.

                  Do you travel anywhere?

I love  travel and will generally arrive at least the day before the event to help ensure that unexpected travel delays do not make me late.

When should we do the wedding portraits?

This is mostly up to you, but usually a little before the ceremony or immediately following the group shots after the ceremony.

                 Do you take getting-ready shots?

These are some of my favourite photographs to capture. The energy and excitement are there along with the calm and emotional interactions and silent moments shared.

                 Do you take dance shots?

Of course, now that the evening fun has begun it needs to be captured along with the important first dance.

Do you shoot film or digital?

I shoot both, for film I use a couple of Bronica 645 medium format cameras and a Canon 1n and for digital I use two Canon full frame mirrorless cameras.

                 Do you shoot in RAW?

Always RAW allows me to get the very best quality and image detail when post-processing the images.

                Do you edit the photos?

I personally edit every image you receive. They will each be colour corrected, and the tonal quality and feel carefully adjusted.

I always remove litter and unwanted items from the key images and couples and group portraits.

Images destined for prints and albums can have blemishes removed, softening of the skin, enhancement of  eyes etc,  These are all much more labor intensive and should be done to the images that you care about most, such as in a wedding album.

I never outsource editing as I believe the editing is a vital part of the creative process.

               Do you shoot in B&W?

I absolutely love B&W photographs. There is something so timeless about them.

I always include a selection of  images that I feel work well in B&W but if, you like, there is an option for a whole second set of images in B&W.

               Is your wedding package flexible?

Indeed my goal is to help you find a wedding package that fits your needs and budget.

Please contact me if you have questions about our wedding photography packages/services or don’t see what you’re looking for.

How many photographs will we receive?

Generally 75-100 photographs per/hour of coverage.

When is it best to schedule our engagement session?

Engagement portraits can be scheduled anytime in the months before your wedding. I shoot engagement portraits on location. Usually in London which has so many locations including outdoor, urban, street, natural and other settings. I will work with you to design a session that fits your personality and desire.

What kind of equipment do you use?

I use two Canon R6 mirrorless digital SLR bodies for every shoot and often a Canon 6D Mk2 as backup,  with Canon L series and Sigma Art Lenses. I also photograph with film and use two Bronica 645 medium format cameras and two Canon 1n 35mm cameras.

I process all of my photographs on a couple of imacs computers using Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop and other professional photography software. I use a color-managed workflow for highly accurate color. I invest regularly to stay current on camera equipment, computer equipment/software and education to insure you receive very high quality photographs.

When will we get to see our wedding photos?

Your photos will generally be ready within 4 to 6 weeks following the wedding. I go through a careful process of choosing the best images from the day and processing each of them with individual attention.

Will we meet again before the Wedding?

About one month before your wedding day, I will contact you to schedule a planning meeting for longer weddings or telephone call if you prefer. At the meeting we can discuss, plan and outline a photography schedule and run through locations for your wedding day along with some tips and pointers, which you can pass along to your guests and family members and wedding planner.

               Do you offer albums?

Yes. I offer custom-designed albums in a range of price points.

I can also arrange fine art prints and framing.

Who chooses the photographs in the album?

You will choose your favourite photos and I will create a design which you can review before we send to print.

             Do you charge for travel?

There is no charge for travel within Greater London and the Home Counties. For weddings outside this area, I will work with you to determine the appropriate fee to cover travel expenses.
